Tim Franzak thoroughly enjoys connecting with his students about topics that interest them—especially if that topic is comic books, about which he has remarkable knowledge. A native Richmonder, Tim earned a BA in History as well as a Master’s certification in Secondary Social Studies Education from VCU before coming to Seven Hills in 2012. While he predominantly taught History and Civics for the first nine years at Seven Hills, Tim taught a year of 8th grade Language Arts in addition to teaching LA during the 2020-2021 school year as part of our cohort system. During that time, he discovered how much he enjoys engaging with students about reading and writing, building on the research writing work that was a focus in his History courses. Tim has spent the last few years updating our library collection—reorganizing it to be a better browsing experience for students, and is always eager to help students find the right book.
