Biography

Amy has worked in garden and organic farm education for 15 years. She first grew educational gardens all over Seattle, including a vibrant program at a K-8 school. In WA she graduated from The Evergreen State College and went on to get her Certificate of Nonprofit Management at the University of WA. Amy and her husband transplanted to VA in 2015 when she began working for the nonprofit Tricycle Gardens—managing multiple urban farms and teaching organic farming to adults. Currently, she runs her own Wild Urban Farm project out of her backyard, and homeschools her young children. She believes urban gardening can be a powerful educator and uplift social, individual, and environmental health. She welcomes the all from our community to come enjoy the garden anytime.
