Seven Hills School Recognized as an AMLE School of Distinction

Community, Faculty, News

Seven Hills School is proud to announce that it has been recognized as an Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE) School of Distinction. This prestigious recognition celebrates our commitment to educational excellence and our dedication to the developmental needs of middle school boys.

The AMLE Schools of Distinction program is designed to help middle grades educators reach every student, grow professionally, and create great schools. It is grounded in research-based best practices as outlined in AMLE’s landmark publication, The Successful Middle School: This We Believe.

By receiving this recognition, Seven Hills School joins an elite network of schools that are recognized for actively implementing essential attributes and characteristics of effective middle grades schools. The program’s goal is to support schools in their continuous improvement journeys, foster a community of learning and support, and highlight the exceptional work that takes place in middle level education every day. This year only seventeen schools were recognized nationally.

“We are honored to be recognized as an AMLE School of Distinction,” said Will Murphy, Assistant Head of School for Program. “This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, students, and the entire school community. It reflects our commitment to fostering a nurturing and challenging educational environment tailored to the unique needs of middle school boys.”

  • Our faculty and administration are committed to creating an educational environment that stimulates intellectual curiosity and affirms the developmental needs of middle-grade boys.
  • We value diversity, foster leadership, and encourage integrity, responsibility, empathy, respect, and personal courage among our students.

About AMLE and the Schools of Distinction Program
AMLE is the only international organization of its kind for middle school educators. With a community more than 35,000 members strong, AMLE is the go-to source for middle level education, peer-reviewed research, best practice, and professional development.

The AMLE Schools of Distinction program involves a comprehensive assessment process, including virtual school visits and interviews with school representatives. Recognized schools receive ongoing coaching and support through a continuous improvement roadmap designed around best practices. They also have the opportunity to contribute to AMLE’s professional development library and other leadership opportunities.

As a recognized School of Distinction, Seven Hills School will be celebrated at the AMLE Annual Conference, where we will have the opportunity to share our successes and learn from other distinguished schools.
