Two Poems
Poems by Colby R.
He, A Boy
He, a boy,
Under pressure,
A weight, so glorified,
By normality,
He loses function.
The weight varying,
From socialization,
To responsibilities of academia,
A world so vast and widening,
But the boy, still compromised.
The pressure, weighing,
The topics, fraternizing,
The meaning, fading,
Overwhelmed, too much,
For it has been glorified,
A sanctuary for some,
But the boy,
He, a boy,
Is different.

The Transformation of Society
Society under a cover
The sheet below abused
Power, a thing only held by one
Everything consumed.
Nothing comes free
Not even help
A thing so precious
A gem so scarcely found.
Society as we have made it
Destroying, and building –
Still hiding under covers
Coward us with stupidity
Under a cover, society will be.
