Waiting & Wondering – Five Poems
Written by 8th Grade Nick S.
CAR
As I sit here, not far
From my home
From my sanity
As I wait for the drive to be over
I wonder am I
Sane or going insane in this car?
LEFT OUT POEM
I remember a few years ago
I think you know
How this is gonna go
Fortnight is what ruined it
Everyone talked about it a little bit
All of my friends would talk
About their favorite game
But I did not feel the same about this game

LOW
Hello down there
I see you right there looking so sad, in despair
In the depths down below
So, so low
I am sure you are sad, not glad, maybe mad
But why, why so low?
HIGH
Hello up there
So fair and so happy
But why, so high in the sky
How easy to fly so high up there?

SLEEP
I lay here yearning for sleep,
Lying,
Waiting, but it does not come.
I lay in dismay, waiting for sleep,
Waiting for the darkness to engulf me, to take me away.
I lay here waiting.
