The Creature’s Creep

The Creature’s Creep

By Gavin C.

I have walked once, amidst the mist,

No fear at all, hand in a fist,

I just was there, where, I knew not,

But, that is the one thing that I sought.

Neither monster nor demon stand in my way,

But, at some point I see a creature that lay,

Shivering, and severed, must have gone through a fight,

Green and moaning, not two extents of sixty,

Still, the black amidst we,

And see, the screams of the killed,

While we stared on, at

The Gaulian Stone in the night.

I stand, all frozen, not a dang thing is moving.

A band of things come, still I am;

It seems someone has killed me.

So it seemed at this time that nothing would move me.

As fast as I froze, my mouth just opened;

I am again moving.

A second later, I see a light,

Amidst the dark of the mist of the terrored night.

There is, it seems, something even the creature is fearing,

Except I hear nothing, it just seems to be a light.

I hear, now, what the creature is fearing;

Even now I am scared and fearing and oh so loudly tearing.

I see it easier; a bird, it seems,

Laughing and cackling at both the creature and me.

It stops. “I am to be known only to those who encounter me;

“If you do not comply, the consequences of your actions are

“Torment by he, the Raven, being you see,

“The only consequence is vicious torment of me.”

I think to run, and I do, no words spoken,

While this merciless being stands, cackling and ‘woken,

Amongst the trees, as the fairies flee, a query comes to mind:

“What does the bird creep, the vicious black creature, want, if it wants

Just to mercilessly taunt us?”

“So vile,” I think, after walking a mile;

Then I see the deserted property,

And the pack of bones, human-like bones,

Scarily, professionally,

Oh so hard, creepily piled around me, easily haunting me.

”Let Lenore live!”
