Review: Pokemon Legends ZA
By Luke F.
Pokemon Legends ZA is a game with a plot that intertwines with Pokemon X and Y’s story but still has an experience that people new to the Pokemon series can enjoy. Its new real time battle system gives fans of Pokemon old or new a great and fun adventure.
The game starts as you enter Lumiose City, a bustling metropolis. Your bag gets stolen and you meet Taunie, a worker at Hotel Z, a small business run by AZ, a 3000 year old man, and his Floette (a Pokemon) and choose your first Pokemon: Todidie, Tepig or Chickarita.
You learn about the ZA royale battling league and catch Pokemon. This cycle repeats itself as you meet friends and complete side quests until you spot a strange Pokemon chasing it then defeating a Mega Absol (Pokemon who have gained more power). You then cycle though defending Mega Pokemon with your own Mega Pokemon, then compete in the ZA Royale and go up the ranks.
The game is fast paced and fun with side quests that spice up the game. The new battling system gives the game a way more fun and locked in feel. The game intertwines with Pokemon X and Y to make a die hard player point at the screen and yell because of references but explains enough to make new fans understand the plot. The story is very good in this game.

The game does not really have a bad guy and the one there is doesn’t come until the end of the game, which makes the game feel very goody two shoes. And the characters feel bland except for AZ and Taunie.
Still, overall I had a lot of fun with this game and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Pokemon or RPGs in general.
