The Life and Crimes of Hoodie Rosen
Hoodie Rosen is part of an Orthodox Jewish community that has recently moved to a new town that doesn’t totally understand or accept them. Hoodie isn’t too bothered by this though, and then he meets Anna-Marie, the daughter of the town’s mayor. As they start to spend time together, Hoodie becomes engrossed in discovering who is committing antisemitic crimes. Things continue to escalate, and to make matters worse, Hoodie’s family doesn’t want him hanging out with Anna-Marie. There are classic coming-of-age issues at play in this book, but with the added complication of exploring cultural and religious prejudice.
