The First State of Being

Michael Rosario is a twelve year old boy living in Delaware in 1999, and he’s very concerned about the potential crisis known as Y2K – when people thought New Year’s Day in the year 2000 would bring about malfunctions in important computer functions in banks, electrical systems, etc. He also has a crush on his fifteen year old babysitter, and when they meet a time traveler from the future, Ridge, Michael is eager to learn how Y2K will impact the world. Ridge, as a semi-responsible time traveler, is sworn to secrecy, and Michael has to figure out how to accept not knowing what the future brings while trying to help Ridge get by in 1999 and figure out how to get home.
