a cutting-edge middle school for boys in richmond, virginiaSeven Hills

Message to the Families of Seven Hills School:

Dear Parents,

Please join with us in support of the Seven Hills School Annual Fund.

As Seven Hills parents, we are awed by the opportunities our students have to do things they would have never considered at a larger school. In one important way, however, Seven Hills is no different than any other independent school, including older schools with established endowments. To achieve the level of inspiration and excellence we all want, our tuition alone does not cover the full cost of each boy's education. The difference is made up from charitable giving, which includes donations from Board members, alumni, past parents, faculty and from the families of current Seven Hills students.

To help bridge the funding gap, the school works diligently to seek foundation and corporate grants as well as charitable donations from the community at large. These donors look favorably at institutions with a high percentage of internal support. Currently each member of the Board is making his or her pledge to support the annual fund. Faculty and staff members are also making their pledges. Later this fall, the school will reach out to the alumni and friends. Last year, over 86% of the parents made gifts to the annual fund; our current goal is to achieve 100% participation this year. Achieving this goal will be a wonderful statement to the boys, the faculty and even families considering joining the Seven Hills community. To get there we need every single family to return their pledge form. Please know every gift is welcome and much appreciated at any amount.

The amount you give is a personal decision and we hope you will give it generous consideration. Last year gifts from our parents ranged from $25 to $2,500.

Thank you for considering our request. Together, we will show our support of Seven Hills – a great place for our students– and continue to build the foundation for generations of boys to come.

Sincerely,
